• Coal Processing and Non-Coal Processing Wastes
There are no coal processing facilities nor are any proposed at the New Horizon 2 area. All of the
coal is transported to the power station by a transportation contractor. Reject rock from a rotary
breaker at the power plant may be transported back to the mine site and deposited in the pit at
least 10' below the subsoil level.
Non-coal wastes shall be periodically transported to the county landfill. Trees and brush removed
in the site clearing process may be chipped and used for mulch or pushed into an adjacent mined
out pit and buried.
