Box 773598 <br />Steamboat Springs, CO 80477 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Seneca II-W Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) <br /> Permit Renewal Application No. 7 (RN-7) <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Routt County Commissioners: <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 2, 2020, an <br />application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Seneca II-W Mine was <br />considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the <br />Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br /> <br />Seneca Property LLC proposes to continue surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on <br />land located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is further described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />T5N, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 <br /> T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br /> T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19. <br /> <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Hayden Gulch. <br /> <br />This permitting action constitutes a renewal request for the next five year term. The Yoast Mine is <br />in reclamation. This renewal application does not propose revisions to the approved mining and <br />reclamation plan, nor is there any proposed surface disturbance outside of the currently approved <br />disturbance area. <br /> <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Hayden Public Library, <br />201 E.
