TELESTQ
5 0 L U T 1 O N 5. I C) a N C) R A T E D
June 22, 2020
Via Electronic Mail
Stephanie Fancher-English
Loveland Ready-Mix Concrete, Inc.
644 N Namaqua Avenue
Loveland, Colorado 80537
Subject: Loveland Ready-Mix Concrete,Inc. (LRM)
Knox Pit Permit No. M-2017-036 - Q4 2019 and Q2 2020 Water
Quality Results
Dear Stephanie:
Please find attached 4th Quarter 2019 through 2"d Quarter 2020 baseline groundwater
quality data for LRM Knox Pit Permit No. M2017-036. These samples are prior to
exposing groundwater and/or initiating dewatering operations at the LRM Knox Pit(Site).
Figure 1 displays sample locations (wells) MW-06, MW-10, MW-12, MW-13, and MW-
19. Analytical Laboratory Services — Fort Collins (ALS), conducted the laboratory
analysis. Attachment 1 summarizes 4th Quarter 2019 and I" Quarter 2020 laboratory
results, and Attachment 2 provides the ALS lab reports.
Attachment 1 compares recent sample water quality data to CDPHE WQCC Regulation
41: Basic Standards for Groundwater. All parameters are below standards except for
uranium in wells MW-6 and MW-10, both of which have exhibited uranium above
standards in the past, and remain consistent with past readings.
Both quarter's samples are consistent with previous concentration levels with the
exception of mercury in the 2"d Quarter 2020 water quality results. We attribute the
higher mercury concentrations to field/equipment contamination or mercury in the
distilled water used to decontaminate equipment. This claim is supported in the mercury
concentration from the field blank(distilled water). The field blank displays a mercury
concentration of 0.0013 mg/L, which is consistent with the increase shown in other wells
sampled on the Site.
Please feel free to contact me at(970)484 7704 or via email at t__,erl.,n .i t,2 IC,l, inr.CIm if
you have any questions or comments concerning this submittal.
Sincerely,
Colorado Office (Corporate) Grand Junction New Mexico Office
750 1411 Street SW 751 Horizon Court,Suite 109 1303 Pope Street
Loveland,Colorado 80537 Grand Junction,Colorado 81506 Silver City,New Mexico 88061
970484-7704/970-484-7789(FAX) 970-697-1550 575-538-5620/575-538-5625(FAX)
