Additional Sampling Plan of King II Roof, Coal & Floor (PR-1 O)
King II Roof, Coal & Floor Sampling & Analysis
With the addition of private and BLM surface owned parcels added to the permit
application package by Permit Revision PR-10, additional samples, upon CDRMS
approval, will be collected from existing drill cores or from within the current
workings of the King II mine.
Analysis of King II refuse will be accomplished by obtaining roof 8v floor samples of
retained core drilling cores, as well as roof, coal 8v floor samples that may be collected
from active workings at the King II mine. As per "Guidelines for the Collection of
Baseline Water Quality and Overburden Geochemistry Data", as posted on the
CDRMS website, roof 8v floor samples will be collected as composite samples from
strata approximately 5 feet overlying and 5 feet underlying the coal seam, or at site
specific intervals determined to be most likely to be mined and transported to the
refuse pile at King I, a sample of the coal seam, and samples of interburden, partings,
splits, etc. Where possible, these samples will be collected at intervals of
approximately 1 hole per square mile.
Attached King II Appendix 4(8A) Map 3, shows the locations of existing and proposed
roof, coal and floor samples which have been collected and analyzed, or are proposed
to be collected and analyzed. Samples will be analyzed as detailed in the attached
table and text entitled "Proposed Chemical Parameters 8v Methods of Analysis".
Samples labelled RCF #1 thru #3 were chosen to take advantage of locations which
are legally and physically accessible within the King II mine. RCF #4 is an available
drill core which was collected in 2015. Additional proposed samples will be collected
from various available drill cores located as near as possible to the parcels added to
the permit application package by PR-10.
Sample Collection & Analysis
The above samples will be collected by GCC Energy personnel under the direction
and supervision of Resource Hydrogeologic Services, Inc., and transported, under
normal chain-of-custody to a laboratory with the necessary qualifications to analyze
the material.
Results of this sampling and analysis results will be compiled in a report and
included in the King II permit documents as a supplement to Appendix 4(8A) entitled
Appendix 4(8A-1).
CC Energy, LLC King II Mine
Section 2.04.6
Page 8A June 12, 2020 (PR-10)
