To 'DRMS Den Page 2 of 7 2020-06-11 21.56:51 (GMT) 13032008630 From: Ben Langenfeld
wicki Aind As-soc"des, P I June ll,2020
Matt Yamashita
Area Wildlife Manager
Glenwood Springs Area Wildlife Office
Colorado Parks and Wildlife
88 Wildlife Way
Glenwood Springs,CO 81601
RE: Rincon Materials
Mr. Yamashita
1"his letter is in response to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife offices letters to Eagle County and
the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety applications for the Rincon Materials
construction materials operation. Rincon Partners, the applicant, would first like to thank your
personnel, Brian Wodrich and Danielle Neumann, for taking the time to meet with us on site as
well as work with us to design implementable best management practices for the proposed
operation. Their effort and time are appreciated.
Based on the discussions onsite with Mr. Wodrich and Ms. Neumann, Rincon Partners will
institute the following additional controls to the proposed operation known as Rincon Materials:
1. No mining, crushing,or screening of materials from April 15 to June 3)0 each year.
2. Rincon will maintain pathways from the upland areas down to the river for bighorn
sheep to use. If necessary, during non-operational times, portions of the conveyor belt
may be moved to accommodate these pathways.
3.
All Rincon personnel will be trained to maintain at least 750' from any sighted game
animals(bighorn sheep, mule deer, elk, etc.)that enter the area.
In addition to these outlined specifies.Rincon acknowledges that if raptors(specifically
peregrine falcons) move into close enough proximity to the operations at Rincon, further
operation seasonal limits may become required.
Rincon Partners is looking forward to continuing engagement with CPW throughout the life of
the proposed operation.
Rincoti 14aterials
Jum,2020
