(GEI) has prepared this technical memorandum to summarize results of a
preliminary kinematic evaluation performed for a planned road cut along a haul road providing
access to Aggregate Industries' (Al) West Quarry at the Morrison Quarry Mine. The haul road is
intended to provide access to the West Quarry for future mining activities. The haul road
' construction will include a large rock excavation on a southeast facing side slope as shown below
in Figure 1.
FOOTPRINT OF ROAD CUT ,
ROCK EX.
f
A b
7347.0
HAUL ROAD ` %5 %
1' 1
— 6192A
Figure 1. Plan view showing approximate alignment of haul road.
' The haul road alignment and cut geometry was selected by Al and contains significant cut and fill
sections due to the steep topography. The roadcut is approximately 870 feet long and the
maximum height is 92 feet. A bench approximately 20 feet wide will separate two highwalls with
slopes of approximately 1 H:5.5V and 1 H:2.8V. The roadcut profile is shown in Figure 2.
