No problems were noted with any of the ditches.
The water supply pond was inspected, and no problems were noted.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The Garvey field had been cut and baled. The farmer uses road bales. During the inspection the farmer
was collecting bales and hauling them off site. Based upon the cut stubble, it looked like the crop was an alfalfa
hay crop.
No obvious bare areas were noted in the irrigated pasture field. Tailwater is channeling at the southern end of the
field before it runs across the newly topsoiled area and on the Pond 1.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
The Dryland pasture portions of the reclamation are looking very dry and thin on vegetation. The dryland
areas are not weedy and not eroding.
A cluster of several Russian knapweed plants were noted at the East entrance gate.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
We discussed ways to manage the irrigation tailwater off the irrigated pasture to minimize soil loss and
gullying of the freshly replaced topsoil. Frank had some ideas to make a temporary berm to collect any soil before
it enters the pond. This would not require a revision and would keep the topsoil on the reclaimed area.
TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Topsoil replacement on the southern end of the permit area is progressing, but not completed. The topsoil
stockpile is in good shape and graded where the resource was accessed. The operator will address tailwater
managment across the recently topsoiled area.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER (SPECIFY) NA
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 3 of 6
