created in the berm)where it can be discharged through the H flume and recorded for flow rate, pH,
and sampled along with the other sources.
Deadman Gulch native flows should be isolated from mine related sources and returned directly to the
gulch. This is a native flow that because of its isolation from the mine and related activity has never
been included in permit requirements. However, based on previous system designs,it gets mixed with
site related water sources in the existing sump/weir before returning to the gulch. This substantially and
unnecessarily increases the volume of water requiring monitoring and treatment and to some degree,
contaminates a native source. We believe this was a design oversight that requires immediate
correction. An additional half section of HDPE pipe will be added to convey this source directly over and
past the sump, weir, and monitoring equipment to the gulch.
Based upon several years of experience with this site, and knowledge of previous attempts to address
water treatment,we believe that construction and implementation of the above described features and
procedures represent the most efficient and sustainable strategy to achieve permit compliance. Please
also refer to attached site diagram and profile drawing.
Comments and questions should be addressed to:
Black Creek Hydrology, LLC
Steven Belz, Manager
10998 Patterson Court
Northglenn,CO 80234
Office 303-920-2664
Mobile 303-810-4992
www.BlackCreekHydro.com
Kye Abraham, President
LKA International, Inc.
