PERMIT#:M-1977-020
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJM
INSPECTION DATE:May 13,2020
l
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as a routine monitoring inspection. Mike Ripp with MVR Resources,
representing the Operator, was present during this inspection. Photographs are included with this report in
order to illustrate some of the conditions observed.
The Pit No. 1 site is located on the north side of Delta and accessed from Hwy 92. The site is a 112c operation
that includes a total of 58.44 permitted acres. The purpose of the inspection was to observe the reclamation
success and determine if the April 13, 2020 request for full release of the reclamation permit was approvable.
The approved post-mine land use is recreation, wildlife habitat and general agriculture. An amendment was
submitted and approved to change the post mining land use in a portion of the site to general agriculture in
April 2020.
The reclamation plan includes three separate lakes. A road was approved to remain in place around West
Lake.
Based on the conditions observed during the inspection the 58.44 Acres requested to be released has been
granted. The site was graded exceptionally well and the reclaimed slopes tie into the adjacent undisturbed
slopes in a very natural looking way. All reclaimed slopes appear to be no steeper than the required 3H:1V.
There was no erosional issues observed. Water Retention is permitted through the State Engineers Office.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
No problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone number(303)266-3567 ext 8180.
