— 20.8 — (13.4)t =31.5 1.257
32
Since critical tt= 0.853 (one-tailed, alpha= 0.2, 32-1 df) and tcalc (1.257)is greater than this critical
value, reclamation success for the WPD mandatory performance standard 1 under Phase III in 2019 is
demonstrated. It should be noted that the same result would have been achieved using raw values (tcalc=
2.830 which exceeds tt= 0.853).
In 2019, the mean density in the Volunteer Concentration area of the BRB-5 (1,296.1 stems per acre)
exceeded 90% of the mandatory performance standard 2 (900 stems per acre). Thus, revegetation success
for the WPD mandatory performance standard 2 under Phase III is demonstrated on 37.2% of the BRB-5
in 2018 and 2019.
Species Diversity
2018 & 2019 Species Diversity Success Evaluation
Success for the Mandatory Test A requires that no single species comprise greater than 60%relative cover
in the 2018-2019 BRB-5. Table J-1 of the Revegetation Monitoring Success Report (Attachment F-
BRB-3 Revegetation Success Supporting Documentation) shows that the most abundant single species
Alfalfa was 25.8%relative all-hit cover in 2018 and 36.9%in 2019, far below the 60%threshold of
concern. Hence Mandatory Test A is passed for 2018 and 2019 data.
With regard to Alternative Test B, Total Species Density Test, the standard is the point at which the central
75 percent of the distribution of overall species density in the reference area begins. Mathmatically this
would be the mean Reference Area species density. The following is calculated for the BRB-5 Phase III
Area (See Table J-2 in Attachment F):
Mean Species density (area-weighted, without noxious species)in the 5 reference areas=30.9
species per 100 sq.m.
Probability-adjusted density standard:
2018 Mean Reference Area Species Density— 1.15s =30.9— 1.15 (6.3) =23.6
2018 Mean total species density without noxious species in the 2018 BRB-5 =25.2
2019 Mean Reference Area Species Density— 1.15s =29.4— 1.15 (5.98) = 22.5
2019 Mean total species density without noxious species in the 2019 BRB-5 =26.8
14
