Doug Smith of Oxbow Mining accompanied the inspection. The weather was clear, warm and dry. <br />The status of the Elk Creek Mine is "active" however no coal is being mined and the only activity since the last <br />inspection was site maintenance. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Records were available in the mine office, details are given at the end of this report. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br />(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Roads up Bear Creek and Hubbard Creek were mostly dry, with a few small muddy patches. The roads <br />were easily passable in a light truck or SUV. <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />Recently reclaimed areas around the Elk Creek facilities area were generally well covered with green <br />vegetation. Even on steeper slopes there was no sign of surface erosion in those areas inspected. Mr Smith had <br />begun spraying for weeds in the lower part of the Elk Creek drainage. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />A brief inspection was made of some reclaimed GVB pads and roads above the Bear Creek drainage. <br />There was no sign of any recent disturbance, and the reclamation appeared to be in good shape. <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED <br />N/A <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br />Page 2 of 6 <br />
