MINING PLAN(CONT) EXHIBIT C
ors , a crushing and screening plant, dump trucks and a water
truck.
A large stockpile of specification aggregates will be
created on the site as mining progresses . Once there is an
adequate supply, the processing plant will be moved to another
site and the processed material will be removed as needed. We
expect the mine to operate year-around with periods of inactivity
when adverse weather conditions exist . There may be periods when
no activity takes place on the mine because there is no demand
for material . We cannot estimate how long these periods of
inactivity will be, but may last up to 6 months or more . If the
period extends past 180 days the operator will file for Temporary
Succession.
When topsoil is encountered, it will be stripped and stock-
piled around the perimeter of the site or on the mine floor for
use in reclamation. We will place an average of eight (8) inches
of salvaged topsoil on the mined area. If the soil stockpiles
remain undisturbed for more than one growing season it will be
temporarily seeded using the approved seed mix at a rate of 40
lbs-pls per acre .
We expect to have 9 . 3 acres ± or less disturbed at any-one-
time . The bond estimate presented on page 26 shows the amount of
land we will disturb at a worse case scenario . As mining pro-
gresses we expect to have no more that 400 feet of vertical
working face that would need shaping at any-one-time . At the end
of each mining session the highwall will be temporarily graded 2h
to lv so little slope grading will be necessary if mining ends
prematurely. A temporary safety berm will be built along the
south side that will serve two purposes on is drive off safety
and the other is to prevent uncontrolled stormwater runoff from
leaving the disturbed area . The floor of the mine will be graded
to preserve the drainage pattern across the site as shown on the
MINING PLAN MAP-EXHIBIT E-2 .
AUSTIN& BETSY CLENNIN - BECKER PIT May 7, 2020
23
