EXHIBIT D MINING PLAN (corer) <br /> Source of Legal Rights to Enter, crossing permits and show the <br /> location and design details for the crossings . <br /> The access roads will be constructed of gravel from the site . <br /> They will be at least 40 feet wide and graded to allow for drainage <br /> and have ditches as necessary to collect runoff . Any runoff from <br /> the road will be retained on-site and allowed to soak into the <br /> ground or evaporate. The road will be maintained as needed. <br /> Maintenance roads will be built around each reservoir to provide <br /> access for the owners . The access roads will remain when <br /> reclamation ends as they will be used to access the property. <br /> GEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The affected lands are located along the South Platte River in <br /> a Quaternary age, Piney Creek alluvial deposit . The eastward <br /> dipping beds of upper Cretaceous age are overlain at an angular <br /> unconformity, by the Piney Creek alluvium. The sand and gravel <br /> encountered in the Piney Creek alluvium are a result of water <br /> erosion and redeposition of rock materials from the Front Range of <br /> the Rocky Mountains . The deposition of this material occurred <br /> during a time when the river was much larger than it is now. But, <br /> judging from the scarcity of large rocks found at the location, the <br /> velocity of the river must have slowed sufficiently to have dropped <br /> boulders and most large cobble before it reached this point . <br /> This type of material is typically found from south of Denver <br /> to the Colorado state line along the South Platte River. <br /> The thickness of the mineral deposit varies from 8 to 52+ feet <br /> and the average depth on this mine is approximately 40 feet deep. <br /> This site has a zero to 10 inch layer of topsoil, consisting of <br /> loam and zero to 36 inches of a clay loam to sandy clay loam <br /> overburden that overlays the gravel . This alluvium is a <br /> well-sorted coarse gravel, sand and silt, predominantly granitic <br /> and quartzite material with minor amounts of gneiss, schist and <br /> sandstone . The bedrock under the surface gravel is a grey to grey <br /> black shale that is impervious . <br /> SOILS AND OVERBURDEN <br /> The SOILS MAP IN EXHIBIT I, shows the soil types as delineated by <br /> the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and obtained from <br /> their website . The information contained in EXHIBITI/Jwill provide <br /> background levels for the site as reclamation begins on the entire <br /> area.
