TR04 Adequacy Review 1
Derr Pit(Permit M-2008-017)
With respect to the proposed re-contouring of the area between Phases 1-2, and Phases 5-7,
DRMS will need to review additional cross-sections through this area depicting the proposed
surface, and additional stability analysis.
Please provide additional cross-sections depicting the surface of the proposed area of regrading
and the adjacent developed water storage area in Phases 5-7 at the maximum water level.
DBMS suggests at least one E-W and one N-S oriented section at a minimum. It would also be
very useful to include the existing surface on these figures as a reference.
Please also provide additional stability analysis showing that the proposed regrading will not
have any adverse impact on the stability of the developed water storage body at maximum
capacity. These stability analyses should include relevant factors that could influence stability,
such as the slurry wall itself, or other subsurface structures or surface loads. Again, including a
comparison to the existing conditions would be extremely useful.
This concludes the Division's adequacy review of TR04. This letter shall not be construed to
mean that there are no other technical issues in the submittal. Other issues may arise as
additional information is supplied.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567 x8140.
Sincerely,
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist
