circumneutral, and sulfate and total dissolved solids is typically above the US
Environmental Protection Agency's(EPA's) secondary drinking water standard. Past and
contemporary agricultural activities and septic/municipal discharges in the area are
evidenced by the average nitrate values above the 10 mg/L drinking water standard. Figure
7 shows the Site in comparison to the measurements reported by Flynn (2003). Shallow
agricultural wells in the region reported uranium concentrations ranged from 0.13 to 146
p.g/L with a median of 6.8 µg/L and a 19% exceedance of standards (Musgrove, 2014, p.
Table 5).
1.3 Objectives
The overall objectives of this report are to:
• Provide a thorough description of the Site's baseline water quality
• Form a technically defensible prediction of groundwater quality impacts
associated with mining, and future pit closure and reclamation
Additionally, the intent of this report is to address a recommendation by DRMS to show
how LRM's activities might influence sources that contribute to background or baseline
groundwater quality.
1.4 Approach
The overall approach to meeting the report objectives are threefold:
1. Describe data collected to date
2. Identify any COCs in site data that could potentially exceed WQCC standard in
LRM's discharge(i.e., WMP)
3. Develop a robust, quantitative description of the baseline water quality and
evaluate potential water quality changes in the water management system
1.4.1 Data Collection
Well completion logs for each of the 14-site monitoring well are included in Appendix B.
Telesto conducted quarterly water quality sampling on wells MW-02, MW-06, MW-10,
MW-12, and MW-13 from February 2018 to present per the sampling and analysis plan
(Appendix A). Initial sampling in the norther portion of the Site indicated alluvial water
Loveland Ready-Mix Concrete 4 December 2019

,02 ,o,_ <i,_ l„e„e 9..hnsumsummon does T E L E S T O
