Stover and Associates <br /> 2352 North 7th Street, Unit B <br /> Grand Junction, CO 81501 <br /> RE: McClane Canyon Mine,Permit No. C-1980-004 <br /> 2019 Annual Hydrology Report Review <br /> Dear Tamme, <br /> The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division)received the 2019 Annual <br /> Hydrology Report for the McClane Canyon Mine on March 11, 2020. The Division has <br /> completed the review of the above referenced document and finds the report to be in compliance <br /> with the following Rules: <br /> The 2019 report is in compliance with Rules 4.05.13(1), (2), (3) and (4) and the approved permit <br /> application package. <br /> Rule 4.05.13(4)(a) —The data collected during the 2019 Annual Hydrology Report(AHR) is kept <br /> and maintained at the office of J. E. Stover and Associates. <br /> Rule 4.05.13(4)(b)— The 2019 AHR is compiled from the analysis of hydrologic data collected <br /> from the monitoring period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. <br /> Rule 4.05.13(4)(c)(i), (ii), (iii) —The 2019 AHR was submitted to the Division by the determined <br /> date on which the permittee and the Division agreed to. The report included an interpretation the <br /> collected data and identified mining related impacts to the hydrologic balance. <br /> Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) are submitted to the Division on a monthly basis. There <br /> were exceedances recorded at the monitoring locations 001 and 004 during the 2019 water year. <br /> The exceedances occurred in October of 2018. The 2019 AHR did not discuss these <br /> exceedances. Please revise the report to include a discussion of the exceedances and the <br /> corrective actions the operator took to prevent future exceedances. Please also include a <br /> discussion in the report of the impacts from these exceedances on East Salt Creek. Please <br /> revise the report to reflect the discharge from 001/Sediment Pond in October of 2019.
