SUNDAY MINE COMPLEX-HYDROGEOLOGIC REPORT <br /> EFR drilled pilot holes at each well location to obtain geophysical log information. Information <br /> from these logs was used to identify well screen intervals for the Top Rim Sandstone. During <br /> pilot hole drilling operations for the monitoring wells the boreholes consistently yielded relatively <br /> small quantities of water.The following subsections summarize drilling and well installation <br /> operations at the monitoring well sites. <br /> 9.1.1 MW-SUN1 <br /> The pilot hole for well MW-SUN1 (the eastern compliance well) was completed on October 9, <br /> 2012. The location of this hole is approximately 6,000 ft southeast of well MW-SUN2, near the <br /> southeast corner of the property. Like the other wells, the hole encountered perched <br /> groundwater in sandstone units above the target horizon (in the Burro Canyon Formation and <br /> lenses in the Brushy Basin). The hole was deep enough to penetrate through the Top Rim <br /> Sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. The Top Rim unit of the Salt <br /> Wash was interpreted to be from 1,107 ft to 1,214 ft. The target mining sandstone unit here <br /> contained a thicker mudstone split resulting in two separate sandstone lenses. Combined, the <br /> Top Rim unit is approximately 55 ft thick (1,005 to 1,060 ft deep) with an 18-ft thick mudstone <br /> split that is interbedded with thin sandstones in the middle. The upper sandstone, between <br /> 1,005 and 1,022 ft deep appears typical for Salt Wash and the lower sand between 1,040 <br /> to1,062 ft deep was redder than the Top Rim Sandstone usually is. The hole continued through <br /> 40 ft of red mudstone beneath the Top Rim unit. The depths for the target sandstone match the <br /> projection for the well. The closest historic hole along strike to this hole lies about 4,000 ft to the <br /> west and shows the Top Rim unit to be split similarly into two or three thin sandstone units <br /> (EFR, 2012). Total depth of the hole was 1,240 ft. A separate pilot hole log was not available. <br /> Well MW-SUN1 is permitted by the DWR under permit number 287951. The well location is in <br /> NE '/., NE 1/4, Section 26, Township 44 North, Range 18 West, New Mexico Principal Meridian. <br /> Drilling of the well borehole for well MW-SUN1 commenced on or about October 29, 2012, and <br /> the well was completed on November 18, 2012 (driller stops well development). Drilling and well <br /> completion was conducted by Reliance Resources, LLC. WWL's scope of work began on <br /> November 3, 2012, and hence, most of the drilling operations were not observed by WWL for <br /> this well. The well was completed at a depth of 1,205 ft. The screened interval (2-inch schedule <br /> 80 polyvinyl chloride [PVC]) was completed within the Top Rim Sandstone in accordance with <br /> the geophysical log and direction by EFR; the screened interval was from 1,115 to 1,205 ft. A <br /> lockable steel surface casing was cemented in place for the surface completion. Appendix E <br /> shows details of the well completion. <br /> Western Water& Land, Inc. 27 <br />
