Matheson Mining Consultants Blasting and Vibration Analysis details a vibration
analysis of the proposed blasting plan described in Exhibit C. Based on the maximum charge weight of
66.14 pounds per 8ms delay, the nearest building could be safely located 447.3 feet from the Von Doose
portal without requiring seismic monitoring. There are no buildings or other structures within several
thousand feet of the portal or affected area.
The portal located on the Nella M is approximately 826 feet from the Von Doose portal. Using the peak-
particle-velocity equation cited by Matheson, at that distance an allowable charge weight of 221 pounds
per 8ms delay could be safely used without requiring seismic monitoring. That is 334% larger than the
maximum charge weight for the Von Doose. AMR can confidently state that no damage will occur to the
Nella M portal from blasting activities at the Von Doose.
