SITE DESCRIPTION EXHIBIT B(CONT) <br /> VEGETATION INFORMATION <br /> 1. Current cover percent is: 45 to 65% <br /> 2. Topsoil depth on site averages: 0 to 12 inches <br /> 3. Seeding dates recommended: October 15 to May 1 . <br /> 4. Fertilizer, if needed: Phosphate @ 40 lb/ac and nitrogen @ 40 lb/ac. <br /> 5. Mulch It to 1.0 ton/acre weed free grass hay or straw <br /> 6. Seeding recommendation for area: <br /> Non-Irrigated Native grass seed recommendation <br /> Seed Rate PLS/acre <br /> Western Wheatgrass 6.4 <br /> Thickspike Wheatgrass 2.0 <br /> Indian Ricegrass 1.2 <br /> Slender Wheatgrass 1. 1 <br /> Blue Grama 0.3 <br /> Sandberg Bluegrass 0.2 <br /> 1177.0� <br /> This seed mix and seeding rates were prepared by the Pagosa <br /> Springs NRCS office. This will provide 41.06 seeds/ftA2/acre. <br /> The seed will be drilled where possible and doubled if broadcast. <br /> The site is currently part of a terrace deposit above the Navajo <br /> River located southeast of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. It has no <br /> special or unique characteristics as the site has been used as <br /> rangeland for many years. It has a vegetative cover of mostly <br /> introduced wheatgrasses, scattered Ponderosa pine and Gamble oak. <br /> Average annual production is approximately 850 pounds per acre. <br /> The plant community is 80 to 90 percent grasses and 10 to 20 <br /> percent trees and brush. <br /> NOTE: 1/ Indicated rate if drilled. The mixtures will be doubled if broadcast. <br /> 20 <br />
