Mr. Frank Ferns of ERMR accompanied <br /> the inspection and represented the operator. <br /> The weather was cold,clear and dry. patchy snow remains on the ground throughout the mine area. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Mine records are stored in the Meeting building with Hydrologic records stored in the main office. <br /> Records were checked and found to be up to date and well organized. "Availability of Records"form is attached <br /> to the end of this report. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> Three Sandhill cranes were observed flying over the mine office area,with two additional cranes in the <br /> irrigated pasture reference area. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage —Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Only Pond 13 was discharging at the time of the inspection. The other ponds in the permit were either <br /> dry,or holding very shallow patches of ice,or patchy snow. Embankments of the ponds looked like they were in <br /> good condition. <br /> A flock of geese as well as ducks were swimming in Pond 13. Inflow to Pond 13 was about 1000 gpm(two flow <br /> meters read 863 gpm and 140 gpm). Iron staining at the inflow was visible on the cattails. The cattails appear <br /> fairly effective in retaining the inflow long enough to drop out the Fe,as iron staining was not obvious in the pond <br /> beyond the cattails. <br /> ERMR has completed re-grading the Goforth stockpond.
