CmcCONTINENTAL MATERIALS CORPORATION
figures at this time as this level of detail will be based on field observations during the execution
of the Plan. As these roads are required, CMC will submit a Technical Revision to incorporate
new facilities showing the location and size (width and length) of each road into the Mining Plan.
The roads will all be constructed within previously disturbed areas.
The acreage and cut and fill volumes for each area are included in Table D-2.
Table D-2
Areas of Cut and Fills
Area Cut Volume Fill Volume
Grading Area s
(acres) (BCY ) (LCY )
Backfill 42.9 na 3,985,558
Upper slope 21.1 609,952 na
Lower quarry (various areas) 75.1 2,711,346 na
Total 139.1 3,321,298 3,985,558
Notes:
1. Topsoil needed is 112,000 LCY
(c) Water Diversions and Impoundments
Storm water from all areas of disturbance will be directed into the existing sedimentation systems
for the mine throughout reclamation activities. After the water is clarified it will be discharged into
existing drainages. A Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) discharge permit for the current
operations already exists and will be maintained through the life of the operation.
The reclamation drainage will be constructed as the site is reclaimed, and this drainage network
is discussed in Exhibit G.
(d) Size of area(s) to be worked on at any one time
Consistent with previous amendments, the affected lands boundary at the Pikeview Quarry
coincides with the permit boundary as shown on the maps in Exhibit C. Grading may occur in
any portion of the 240.5 acres of the quarry permit area throughout the life of the project. Once
an area is graded to the reclamation topography, it will be topsoiled and seeded for final
reclamation.
(e) Timetables for Mining and Reclamation Operations
Pikeview Quarry Amendment 4
D-6
