February 11,2020 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> Refuse was being stockpiled on the RP-2/3/4 pile during the inspection. The pile was stable and there <br /> were no indications or erosional features. The out-slopes of the pile were covered with snow.The RP-5a pile was <br /> completely covered with snow. There were no signs of erosion or indications of instability. Development of the <br /> RP-A refuse pile began in late 2019. Most of the site was covered with snow(Photo 6 and 7). There appeared to <br /> have been a minimal amount of work completed since the Division's January 2020 inspection. This is likely due <br /> to the winter weather. There were no observed signs of erosion or any indications of instability at the site. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3),Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5)and <br /> (6)/4.03.2(5) and(6),Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The Haul Road was well maintained during the inspection. The road had no indications of instability or <br /> off-site impacts. The ditches for the road did not appear to be transporting water. Most of the ditches were <br /> covered with snow. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> The main facilities area consists of three benches (Photo 1 and 2). The lower bench has the mine office, <br /> shop and portals located on it. The lower bench was stable and there were no erosional concerns. The middle <br /> bench has the prep plant on it. The bench was well kept and stable. The out-slopes were covered in snow. There <br /> were no indications of erosion or instability. The upper bench contains a substation,equipment storage and the <br /> PP-2 Pond. The bench was stable and no erosional features were observed.
