AZWO CONSTRUCTION
Department of Natural Resources February 5, 2020
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St. Rm 215
Denver, CO 80203
Tim Cazier, PE
Ref: Request for Technical Revision
AZCO Pit
File # M-204-2004-029
Inspection topic: Backfilling, grading, and clarify reclamation plan.
Do to the west ward shift of the mining activity and lack of existing topsoil in the
area, we would like to propose a revision to our reclamation plan to allow for a residen-
tial site to be on the upper area of the pit with the lower area to be a corral for live-
stock. We would propose to have two benches for future building sites with the upper
bench to be for a possible barn site with a rockfall catchment area. With the lack of Na-
tive topsoil existing in this area we would propose to slope the area to 2H:1V to 1H:1V
if necessary without causing more disturbance to the native growing area. The lack of
topsoil in this area is not conducive to seeding or mulching. The natural re-vegetation
seems to be the most effective way to get re-growth in this area. We would propose to
broadcast some natural dry land seed mix in the sloped area. Where residential, barn,
or agriculture livestock corals are anticipated to be built, we would request to allow vol-
unteer vegetation to re-establish.
AZCO Construction [tic, 11.2 Top Rail Trail Penrose, CO 81.240
Page 1 of 2
