Permit Amendment 4, Pikeview Quarry, M-1977-211 ��5�0/�/�F ��?o s �•�M1k1 Gq p'eC44 Dear Mr. Cazier: �f? .�14Fcry��N Continental Materials Corporation (CMC) is pleased to submit responses to the third adequacy review of the 112 permit amendment application for the Applicant's Pikeview Quarry operation.The revised text has been highlighted for your convenience. Several of the responses to previous adequacy comments were deemed "adequate" by DRMS, and only the outstanding and new comments have responses. The CIVIC team feels that this adequacy review includes several requests that exceed the requirements established in the rules and regulations applicable to a construction materials permit.These requests ask for information that would be part of a construction-level design but are unnecessarily specific for reviewing or preparing a permit-level design. CIVIC, like the Division, hopes that the permitting process can proceed without further delays, and therefore CIVIC is including the specifications requested by DRMS, including information identified in the untimely comments submitted by third parties. We assume that DRMS and the objecting parties share CMC's project goals in reclaiming the quarry, and these include: • Safely implementing the reclamation plan • Leaving a stable, vegetated slope • Minimizing the remaining highwalls • Minimizing new disturbances • Minimizing visibility of the reclaimed quarry to the City of Colorado Springs, and These project goals are better met with the proposed reclamation plan than in the currently approved plan.
