Carter Mine— Limited Impact 110(2) Permit Application
Exhibit A—Legal Description and Location Map (Rule 6.3.1)
The map below shows the Carter Mine site as a red diamond, located East of Gunnison (via US Hwy 50)
and North of Ohio City(on County Road 771), in Gunnison County, Colorado.
The four separate areas comprising the Carter Mine permitted area range from 9,100 to 10,600 ft in
elevation. All are sites that have been previously disturbed by mining activity, and all sites are
surrounded by native forests. Predominant forest cover consists of Douglas-fir, Lodgepole pine, and
Engelmann spruce. Understory species include lowjuniper, shrubby cinquefoil, and buffaloberry.
Grasses and forbs include sedges, brome, bluegrass, asters, and arnica.
The land is generally sloped from about 5%to 35%. The surface is varied, consisting of shallow soils to
rocky outcrop to barren disturbed land.
For more detailed descriptions of all areas please refer to mining plan in Exhibit C, maps in Exhibit E, and
vegetation and soil information in Exhibit B.
TOPO! map printed on 01/02/20 from "Carter location.jpg.tpo"
106045.000' W 106034.000' W WGS84 106015.000' W
Pon W
O 83 2 - 80 O
O *#E V., 3. d,lap 5 8 o
st r+# m t F Q Rom '° T
00 fi 'iri 00
a► ; A m
Snit Z
O O
O r .
7
m M
co
m Map cr t Z 2(}06 National Geo' raph+c rn
106045.000' W 106034.000' W WGS84 106°15.000' W
NATIONAL
TN MN
NATIONAL 0 5 10 15 20 25 miles 91/210
R A G EOGPH IC 0 5 10 15' 20 25 30 35 40 km
01102120
The legal descriptions of the four parcels of this permit are:
Carter Mine 6.30 ac, NE1/4 NW1/4 Sec 12,T50N, R3E, NMPM
Farley Portal 0.50 ac, SW1/4 NW1/4 SE1/4 Sec 12,T50N, R3.5E, NMPM
Golden Islet Decline 1.00 ac, SW1/4 NW1/4 Sec 12,T50N, R3.5E, NMPM
Volunteer Shaft 0.50 ac, SE1/4 NW1/4 SE1/4 Sec 12,T50N, R3.5E, NMPM
In total these parcels comprise 8.30 acres.
