Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N - Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> R - Processing Waste N - Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection by Leigh Simmons of the Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety <br /> (Division). Ed Ogrodny of Mountain Coal Company(MCC) accompanied the inspection. The weather was clear <br /> and dry,but with significant snow on the ground. The mine was active. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(l): <br /> Records were available in the mine office. Details are given at the end of this report. <br /> GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> The longwall was in the SS panel,between cross-cuts 30 and 29 on the SS head gate. <br /> Development miners were working on the SS2 head gate at around cross-cut 4,and on the Sunset Mains <br /> South at around cross-cut 26. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The Prep plant was in use,washing coal from the eastern end of the SS panel. On the day of the <br /> inspection,processing waste was being transported by haul truck to the RPEE.Material was being worked over on <br /> the surface of the pile,but was not being compacted in its final configuration.Material in the RPEE was mostly <br /> frozen,however snow was melting in the sunshine and was running off to the low point at the entrance to the pile <br /> where it was diverted into the recently placed culvert or off the front of the pile,into the ditch just above the <br /> culvert's outlet. The edges of the crossing point had been protected by metal barriers. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> The Shaft#3 Methane Supply well,permitted with MR-438,had been successfully completed. All <br /> equipment had been removed from the site.
