1000LORADO <br /> —d Division of Reclamation, <br /> Mining and Safety <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> January 30,2020 <br /> Miranda Kawcak <br /> Foidel Creek Mining,LLC <br /> 29515 Routt County Road 927 <br /> Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br /> RE: Foidel Creek Mine; C-1982-056 <br /> 2018 Annual Hydrology Report Review <br /> Dear Ms.Kawcak: <br /> The Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining, and Safety(Division)has conducted a preliminary <br /> review of the Foidel Creek Mine's 2018 Annual Hydrology Report,AHR,received on 6/17/2019. <br /> The Division finds the 2018 AHR in compliance with requirements identified in the attached memo. <br /> Please give further attention to the following items: <br /> 1. Please consider adding additional discussion within sections 3.1 Bedrock Groundwater <br /> Monitoring in regards to the Wolf Creek seam specifically the underlying geology. <br /> 2. It was noted that well 91M006 was not monitored due to possible damaged. Please <br /> contact the Division with a proposed plan to resolve this issue. <br /> 3. Well FBR-2 dropped 60 feet in 2018. This well has had drops in the past of 56 ft in 2003 <br /> and 84 ft in 2005. The previous drops were attributed to mining activities on the 16 <br /> Right panel and close proximity to a fault zone. Please provide rational for the 2018 <br /> drop. <br /> 4. Well FBR-2E was not monitored during the 2018 water year. Please confirm that this <br /> issue has been corrected in current sampling plans. <br /> 5. It was noted that Well 006-AZ-3 was destroyed in late summer or 2016. This well will <br /> need to be replaced or a TR submitted to change the sampling plan if there is <br /> justification to not replace the well. <br /> 6. It appears bed rock wells WC008A And WC013A were not monitored in 2018. These <br /> were monitored in 2017.
