Mr. Harry Ranney of CDRMS collected digital
images of the site on January 24,2020 via a small airplane. These images were downloaded on January 27,2020
and evaluated by Janet Bums of CDRMS. This report is the observations made of the digital images.
The area has patchy snow throughout the area, with no standing water visible.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4 Impoundments
4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Both pond 1 and 2 are dry with some snow cover in the shaded areas. Neither pond had standing water.
No problems were identified with the ponds or the supporting collection ditches.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3:
The majority of the Mine has been reclaimed. A small area where the office and facilities were located
still requires final grading. The majority of the site has been reclaimed to irrigated pasture, with a center pivot
irrigation system. In 2019 the field was planted to oats. The vegetation is dormant and was left standing, and not
plowed under. The thin patchy snow in the area allows a helpful visualization of drainage patterns off the Garvey
field.
No visible gullies were forming, It appears there and some concentrated runoff paths on the south side of the field
that report to Pond 1. There does not appear to result in bare patches in the field as a result of the concentrated
runoff. There were no cattle on the field at the time of the photographs. Drainage from the north side of the field
is caught by a berm and directed to pond 2. No problems were noted with this drainage.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
The former facilities/office area on the south side of the permit area has been generally graded. There
remains a pile of gravel visible on this pad area. No building or equipment remain on site. A water well and
several power poles have been approved to remain post-mining.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 4
