Preliminary Adequacy
In reviewing the 2017 and 2018 vegetation sampling results provided by TMI, the Division
noted numerous errors and discrepancies as bulleted below.
Please verify the data and provide an explanation, associated formulas or other documentation for the
discrepancies pointed out below.
2017 Dataset
o Table 3: the allowable cover totals in transects 1, 3, 9, 15 and 18 are inconsistent
with the data provided. Adding a column yields a whole number where the data
shows a decimal.
o differing shrub density sample means recorded in in Table 2 (24.42) and Table 5
(26.42).
o inconsistencies in the species diversity discussion on page 7 of Attachment 1 and
Table 3.
2018 Dataset
o Table 3: the total perennial cover and allowable cover values were inconsistent
with the data provided.
o the shrub density discussion on page 6 uses units: shrubs/100m2 whereas Table
utilizes units: shrubs/20m2.
Rule 4.15.8(5) Revegetation Success Criteria
1. The diversity standard requires that one perennial forb have at least 3016 cover. The
Plant Cover Table 3 shows that Medicago saliva was the species with the greatest
cover value of 2.48%. This parameter of the diversity standard has not been satisfied.
Under the circumstances, DRMS could not make a finding that TMI met the
vegetation diversity standard as stated in the rule.
Trapper SL20 Preliminary ADQ Prepared by:R.Reilley,M.S.GISP
Date: January 2020
Page 3
