In light of internal discussions subsequent to receiving your approval, we
have decided to exclude and modify certain activities from the scope of our approved plan.
While we do not wish to propose new or additional activities, we wish to clarify to your office that
CRG will not be undertaking the reopening of any shafts or portals, or carrying out any
underground work; we will limit our plan to surface drilling and trenching only. This will eliminate
the need for bonding for the closure and reclamation of any underground openings. The costs
for such work are detailed in your estimate under Task 1 a, Sealing Underground Openings, and
account also for a portion of the Revegetation costs (Task 4a) of surface disturbances.
Secondly, we will be able to reduce the area occupied by each drilling pad to 30 ft x 30 ft (which
is a significant reduction from the 50 ft x 60 ft drill pad size we had applied for). It is likely that
we will be able to avoid the earthwork associated with blading a level pad at many of the drill
pad locations, but for now we will keep the pad construction in our plan.
As a final note, we will be discussing our planned activities with staff at Colorado Parks and
Wildlife (CPW) regarding sage grouse in the general area of our prospecting. The critical time
to avoid disturbing grouse is during their lekking season, which is March 15 through May 15.
Each year we make it priority to follow BLM/CPW regulations for the Sage Grouse. We will not
operate at the site during that period.
We would like to request that you reduce the required financial warranty by removing the costs
associated with reclaiming the underground openings and with our reduced drill pad size. We'll
await your revised estimate and will provide the financial warranty in the new amount.
Thank you for your help in this matter. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to
contact us.
Sincerely,
r
Jake Wilkinson, Manager
CRG Mining LLC
970-417-3311
