Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N - Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> R - Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a partial inspection by Leigh Simmons of the Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety <br /> (Division). Ed Ogrodny of Mountain Coal Company(MCC)accompanied the inspection. The weather was cold, <br /> clear and dry. The mine was active. <br /> GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> The longwall was in the E8 panel, at around cross-cut 4 on the E8 head gate. The longwall move was <br /> expected to begin immediately after Christmas. <br /> Development of the SS panel was complete. <br /> Development miners had progressed to around cross cut 24 on the Sunset Mains South. <br /> The processed coal stockpile had been drawn down to allow for repairs to the stack tubes. The volume of <br /> the run-of-mine coal stockpile had been built up to allow for continued shipments during the pending longwall <br /> move. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The material from the temporary waste pile on top of the RPE had been completely moved. <br /> Significant work had been carried out at the entrance to the RPEE. The road grade had been built up at the <br /> top of the existing haul road, and a 38 inch diameter hdpe culvert had been placed at the crossing point. The pitch <br /> on the culvert was approximately 12 degrees. Work was in progress to construct the new haul road across the front <br /> of the refuse pile. A substantial berm and the road bed had been constructed using sub-soil. At the time of the <br /> inspection the ground was frozen hard. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES- Rule 4.04: <br /> A drill rig and associated equipment was on site to construct the Shaft 3 Methane Supply Well,permitted <br /> with MR-438. There had been complications with the process of installing the casing the day before the <br /> inspection, and no work was in progress at the time of the inspection.
