Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> R -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was an aerial inspection of the Deserado Mine conducted on December 11,2019. The inspection photos were <br /> taken by Harry Ranney of the Division and this report was completed by Clayton Wein of the Division. There was <br /> no company representative present for the inspection. The weather was clear and the ground conditions appeared <br /> to be dry with small amounts of snow on the north facing slopes. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 <br /> Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br /> Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Topsoil stripping and grading activities at the RP-A refuse area have progressed since3 the November <br /> 2019 inspection. A greater portion of the area extending to the south and west has had its topsoil removed(Photo <br /> 1). The sediment pond located at the east end of the footprint of the refuse pile was dry and stable. The subsoil <br /> pile had increased in volume. The first of the two approved topsoil piles had also increased in volume (Photo 2). <br /> There were no indications of erosional features on the topsoil pile of the subsoil pile. The piles appeared to be <br /> stable. The footprint of the RP-A pile was in good condition and no erosional concerns were identified. There <br /> were no off-site impacts from the site observed. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Two of the ponds at the facilities area(Photo 3),the DP-1 Pond and the PP-2 Pond,were inspected. The <br /> DP-1 Pond was impounding water during the inspection. The embankment was vegetated and stable. No <br /> indications of erosion were identified. The spillways for the pond were clear of debris. The PP-2 Pond was <br /> holding water. The embankments were stable with established vegetation. There were no erosional concerns <br /> noted. <br /> There is one sump, RS-1, and one pond, RR-1, located on the south side of the rail loadout. The RS-1 sump was <br /> dry at the time of the inspection. The embankments were vegetated and stable.
