NEWMONT
GOLDCORR
7 FACILITIES EVALUATION
EPFs are maintained to effectively manage and contain designated chemicals and acid
generating materials. The addition of Phase 3 to VLF2 is considered an expansion to the existing
approved VLF2 EPF.
A monitoring program for surface and groundwater monitoring is presented in Exhibit G. The
emergency response, spill prevention, control, and countermeasures, and emergency and spill
reporting requirements, are contained in the Spill Response Plan (SRP) and the Emergency
Response Plan provided in Appendix 11 and Appendix 12 of this amendment, respectively.
Currently, updates are being made to the facility SRP; therefore, the SRP provided in Appendix
11 is the most current approved version.
The EPFs discussed in this EPP are shown in the attached Figure U-1, and a list is provided in
Table U-2. In addition to the EPFs presented in this section, a number of systems throughout the
site operate to control and contain chemicals and materials. While these systems serve an
important function, they do not exist as final containment for designated chemicals, acid mine
drainage, or toxic or acid-forming materials; therefore, are not considered EPFs.
Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mining Company Exhibit U
Cresson Project Amendment 13
9
