r <br /> � r <br /> EXHIBIT G <br /> WATER INFORMATION <br /> Water Usage <br /> Water needs for the operation include dust control on the roads, moisture control for compaction, <br /> and in the processing equipment. The source of this water is from fire hydrants in the vicinity of <br /> the quarry. This water is purchased from the City of Colorado Springs. <br /> No water is needed for irrigation as no irrigation is expected to be used in the revegetation <br /> program. The revegetation program is designed to function and develop under natural <br /> precipitation levels. Some manual augmentation methods may be used for tree plantings. <br /> Surface Water <br /> The Pikeview quarry is located in the headwaters of the Monument Creek watershed. There <br /> are four drainages flowing east towards the quarry from elevations ranging from 8120' mean <br /> sea level (msl) to 8480' msl. The drainage basin north of North Peak has active surface flow, <br /> during most of the year, but it disappears below the surface a few hundred feet west of the <br /> quarry. The other three drainages historically were dry. A small spring discharges in the vicinity <br /> of the sediment basin in the curve of the access road leading up to the quarry. Any channel <br /> flows that leave the site flow southeast in an unnamed tributary until its confluence with Douglas <br /> Creek, a mile downstream. Douglas Creek runs through a greenbelt to its confluence with <br /> Monument Creek. Monument Creek is a tributary of Fountain Creek, and all are located within <br /> the Arkansas River watershed. <br /> Surface water will be affected in various ways, but, as much as possible, surface water will be <br /> diverted around the operation, or treated in depressions on the site or passed through the <br /> sediment ponds. Control of sediment and flow volumes will be accomplished through the <br /> stormwater management control features. These facilities were described in Technical Revision <br /> 7, approved in early 1994. Details regarding these facilities can be found in the plans with that <br /> technical revision and more recent updates. To control flow volumes, rates, and sediment <br /> discharge, a series of detention basins and energy dissipation drop structures are used. These <br /> structures control the outflow volumes and are designed around a 25-year, 24-hour storm event <br /> for the operational period and a 100-year, 24-hour storm event for reclamation. It is likely that <br /> storms larger than this will be controlled to some extent, but sediment loads and volumes from <br /> larger storms will probably exceed the capability of the system to provide full control. <br /> Pikeview Quarry Amendment 4 <br /> 2019 <br /> G-2 <br />
