 © COLORADO
/ Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
December 5, 2019
Fred Ceconi
Club Claim Manager
Denver Gem and Mineral Guild
1236 Madison Street
Denver CO 80206
RE: Need for State Mine Reclamation Permit,Piety Lode,File M2019-059
Mr. Cecom,
The USFS has provided notification to the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety(DRMS)that
your Notice of Intent(NOI) to conduct prospecting and exploration activities at the Piety Lode claim(CMC
278722)has been approved by the USFS.
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety(Division/DRMS)has specific Rules and Regulations
for Hard Rock, Metal, and Designated Mining Operations, adopted by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board in January 2015. These rules are in accordance with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act(Title 34
Article 32). At this time DRMS believes that an approved mine reclamation permit is required prior to
conducting any mineral mining activities on your claim. The Division has assigned permit ID number M-2019-
059 to your operation. Please reference M-2019-059 on any correspondence you submit to the Division.
As defined in the Act(34-32-103(8)), "mining operation"means the development or extraction of a mineral from
its natural occurrences on affected land. These activities would need an approved mine reclamation permit with
the Division.
As defined in the Act(34-32-110), any person desiring to conduct limited mining operations may apply for the
expedited processing of a mine reclamation permit under two categories: 110(1)—for operations on less than five
acres; or 110(2)—for operations on less than ten acres. Both categories limit material extractions to less than
70,000 tons of mineral or overburden or combination of the two per calendar year.
If you need additional information or have any questions, please contact me at Division of Reclamation,Mining
and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver,CO 80203,by telephone at 303-866-3567 x8140,or by email at
eric.scottLa.state.co.us.
Sincerely,
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist
Certified Mail#7017 2400 0000 9119 2706(Return Receipt Requested)
Cc: Michael Cunningham, Division of Reclamation, Mining& Safety via email
Amy Titterington, USFS via email
-•qF coto
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us I ? o,l
Jared Polis, Governor I Dan Gibbs, Executive Director I Virginia Brannon, Director .'
\ 1876
