Dotsero Quarry: 2019 Reclamation Report
INTRODUCTION
Habitat Management, Inc. (Habitat Management) performed revegetation activities at the
Dotsero Quarry during the summer and fall of 2019. These activities included noxious weed
control and reseeding. This report documents these activities.
REVEGETATION
Mark Ray(Habitat Management) performed the seeding at Dotsero Quarry, located near
Dotsero, CO October 28-29, 2019. A total of 13 acres was broadcast seeded within the Quarry
permit boundary. The site was re-seeded with western wheatgrass, Indian ricegrass, rubber
rabbitbrush, and Wyoming big sagebrush. The seed mixture was provided by Granite Seed and
Erosion Control, Denver, CO. Rice hulls were mixed as an extender with the seed to facilitate
dispersal and aid in identifying areas that had been broadcast seeded during reseeding operations.
Seed bag labels, Copy of Seed Analysis, and the Letter of Certification for the seed materials
used are provided in Attachment 1.
NOXIOUS WEEDS &NUISANCE WEEDY SPECIES TREATMENT
Habitat Management performed two separate herbicide treatments during 2019. Herbicide
treatments were applied on May 15, 2019 and July 26, 2019. Both herbicide treatments were
performed to control the kochia, musk thistle, and halogeton infestations on site. During the July
26, 2019 treatment, musk thistle seed heads were mechanically treated by cutting, bagging and
disposal off site. Herbicide application records are provided in Attachment 2.
Habitat Management, Inc. 1 November 2019
