The Skull Creek Sand Project will not affect ground water. Mining will be too shallow to cause contact <br /> with any ground water or aquifer in the projected mining area. <br /> Surface water due to weather events will be affected. Figure 1 reflects two drainages that divide the <br /> permit area. <br /> The Miller Creek Drainage system takes in approximately 94.4 acres of surface within the affected lands <br /> with approximately 21.0 acres being affected by operations.45.6 acres are within the Skull Creek <br /> Drainage system with approximately 48.4 acres will be disturbed by mining operations. Figure 2 reflects <br /> those disturbed areas. <br /> Sediment from Drainage due to storm events, mining, and snow melt off will be controlled by two rock <br /> check dams as shown on Figure 3. The dams will be installed and constructed as reflected on Figure 3. <br /> Sediment that has backed up behind the dams will be periodically cleaned out so as to allow for <br /> continuous function of the dam.The placement of berms, as reflected on Figure 2, will help control <br /> water to flow in the direction of the rock check dams. <br /> Drainage is reflected on Figure C2, Exhibit C. There will be no wells, springs, stock water ponds, <br /> reservoirs, and ditches that will be affected by mining operations <br /> There is an aquifer under the proposed affected lands. This aquifer is used by the local residents and <br /> ranchers. The aquifer is well below the proposed mining operations making a barrier between the <br /> aquifer and final depth of mining. <br /> Uinta Mining projects that there will be no dewatering due to mining operations. However, Due to <br /> storm events there could be accumulations of water that would gather within the mining area. In the <br /> event that this occurs,the water would be pumped so that it may flow to a check dam prior to leaving <br /> the affected lands. <br /> Uinta Mining will have a need for water(approximately 12,000 gallons per week)to be used for dust <br /> suppression on the haul roads and at the mining location. Uinta mining has received a verbal consent to <br /> utilize water from the "Does Twist" well, along with pond water from Frances Lewis. That water source <br /> is approximately 1% miles west of the permit boundary. Uinta Mining is in the process of acquiring legal <br /> use of this well and that documentation be forthcoming. <br /> Skull Creek Ground Water Hydrology: <br /> Permit Boundary is a sub-set of the Skull Creek State School Section 36 outline. <br /> There are no ground water wells permitted or drilled within the permit boundary(Figure-4). <br /> Six ground water wells have been permitted and drilled within 1,000 feet proximity to the mine permit <br /> boundary. Static water level data from these six wells have been used to construct the Skull Creek <br /> Ground Water Hydrology X-Section (Figure-4)which shows location of three wells that are located in <br /> near proximity to the N-S X-Section Line and SWL's have been projected to the X-Section. <br /> November 11, 2019 <br />
