Colowyo Coal Company L.P.
III. Summary of Reclamation and Management
A. General Description
The area being applied for bond release is a conveyance ditch that will remain as a permanent
structure post-mine in its currently constructed configuration. The 0.4 acre permanent structure
being applied for bond release is shown on Map 1.
The ten-year minimum bond liability period is not applicable for a permanent structure such as
this conveyance ditch being applied for under this application. There is not any topsoil
replacement nor any revegetation for this area as it will remain in the current as-built condition.
The landowner requested this ditch be retained post-mine to support the land use on their
property. The letter from the surface landowner requesting this ditch to be retained as permanent
structure can be found in Volume 2A Exhibit 1 B of the permit application package.
B. Topsoil Replacement
The applicability of Rule 4.06.4 does not apply to permanent features.
C. Revegetation Success Demonstration
The applicability of Rule 4.15.8 does not apply to permanent features.
D. Post-Mining Land Use
The surface landowner has stated they want the ditch to remain post-mining as a permanent
feature;therefore, the ditch remaining as a permanent feature supports the surface landowner
needs post-mining.
E.
