We are providing information to support that request, for each task with related cost reductio . .i.
Task 001 (Relax Highwalls of Pond F2)
We believe that this task, accepting the volume calculations, can be more efficiently performed u ng a
large dozer, such as the D8T(used in Task 003), rather than the Hydraulic Loader used in the calc ation.
(Although a smaller dozer could do this task, we assumed using the D8T based on other tasks assi ned.) .}
Original amount estimated 11.36 hrs reduced to estimated 2.25 hours @$246.17/hour= $ 554
Task 002 (Relax Highwalls of Pond F3)
We believe that this task, accepting the volume calculations, can be more efficiently performed u ng a
large dozer, such as the D8T(used in Task 003),than using the Hydraulic Loader used in the calcul tion.
Original amount estimated 9.09 hrs reduced to estimated 1.55 hours @ $246.17/hour=$ 382.
Task 003 Rip Compacted Areas of the North Parcel
' Although we are unsure of how the estimating software is programmed, there appears to be a pr blem >`'
here. The rip depth is initially stated correctly as 1 foot (in Material Quantities) but under Hourly
Production the average ripping depth is stated as 2.56 feet/pass. It would seem that this should near
lilt
1.00 feet. If this has a direct correlation to the production per unit acre, it would increase that fro
0.703 acres per hour to 1.80 acres/hour, and increase the adjusted hourly fleet production to 1.4 j
acres/hour, reducing total hours from 21.75 to 8.52 hours and cost to $2,097.37.
Task 004A Spread Topsoil Across North Area [Parcel]
'a
There appears to be a miscalculation of volume here. The area is identified as 12.7 acres, but the oil
s
depth is identified as 15 inches (0.42 yards), for a total of 25,611 CY. However, for the entire 12.7 Gres,
the depth is just 6 inches, so the total yardage should be 10,244 CY. We assume that the unit costs
remains at$0.883/LCY. 4
Original amount estimated at 19.77 hrs reduced to estimated 7.91 hours for total of$9,049.
In addition, the unit subtotal cost for the dozer is listed as$237.79 in this task and the next task, t in
the previous tasks, it has been listed as$237.17, or 62 cents less. Because we are unsure which i he
correct one,we are not calculating this in the change in task costs, but ask that you do so.
Task 005 Spread Topsoil Across Affected Lands
As with task 004A the soil depth is identified as 15 inches and not 6 inches so it a r p appears that the otal
volume apparently should be 10,244 CY instead of 25,611 CY.
Original amount estimated at 33.49 hrs reduced to 13.40 hours for a total of$3,186.
Pag 1 of
