RECLAMATION PLAN (CONT) EXHIBIT E
September 2019
APPROVED SEED MIX
Species Variety #PLS
Blue Gram Covington 1 . 0
Indian Ricegrass Nezpar 4 . 0
Sand Dropseed Alma 0 . 1
Yellow Sweetclover 2 . 0
Total 7 . 1
RECLAMATION TIMETABLE
Due to the nature of this mining operation, very little reclama-
tion will be required in the Sand Arroyo channel . When mining
ends the area will be reclaimed during the next highwater cycle .
If this does not occur when The Walsenburg Sand and Gravel Co. is
ready to close the mine any working faces or excavated area in
the channel will be graded 3h to lv and the floor smoothed.
Shortly after mining ends and the stockpiles have been removed on
the upland areas , all resoiling and revegetation will be com-
plete . The mine area will then be monitored for success of
revegetation until it is released by the Board. The operator
estimates that this will happen 3 to 5 years after mining is
completed.
If revegetation problems occur before release, an analysis
of the site will be made and the area will be revegetated again
as necessary. The seed mixture and rates may be revised as
needed to complete reclamation, if a modification is required,
the Division will be notified prior to making the change . This
gives us the most flexibility to complete reclamation success-
fully.
RECLAMATION TIMETABLE
Acres ±
AREA YEARS TOTAL REVEGETATION CREEK UNDISTURBED &
AREA BOTTOM CONCRETE PLANT AREA
Sand
Channel 3 -5 26 . 60 0 . 0 26 . 60 0 . 0
Upland 3-5 41 . 05 15 . 00 0 . 00 26 . 05
TOTALS 67 . 65 15 . 00 26 . 60 26 . 05 11
21
