Box 10
Palisade, CO16
Roadside Portals Mine, C-19 1-0 1
rd Quarter 2019 Discharge Monitoring Reports Review
Dear Ms. Hammond,
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (theDivision) has finished
reviewing the 2019 an' Quarter Discharge Monitoring Reports DM s . The reports were
received on; August 1 , 2019 (July report), September 18, 2019 (August report) and
October 9, 2019 (September and Yd quarter report). The reports corer the time period of-,
July 1, 2019 through September 30, 2019. The Division finds the reports to be in
compliance with Rule .0 .1 .
There are two outfalls associated with the CO-002714611PI S permit, Cutf ll 002 and Cutfall
016. During the months of July, August and September no flow was recorded out of Cutf ll 002.
No exceedances occurred at this location. Outfall 016 discharged during July, August and
September. The reports indicate that no a ceedances occurred for the reported parameters during
the quarter. to other concerns were identified during this time period.
The 11vision was notified that the discharge monitoring point for Cutf ll 016 was re-installed on
May 17, 2019. Parameters monitored at the station have shoved no major changes in water
quality. The rate of grater flog has changed between the months of May and June. The Daily
max flow rate 'in May r prior to the re-installation of 016 was 0.415 NICK or 288.2 GPM. The
maximum daily flow recorded in June after the re-installation of 016 was 0.211 NICK or 146.5
GPM. The gauge was thought to have been placed incorrectly in the culvert prior to the re-
installation resulting in inaccurate flow recordings. Recorded data for the flog through Cutfall
016 has remained consistent during the Yd quarter. Flows ganged from 111 to 130 gpm during
the 3rd quarter.
This concludes the Division's review of the 3rd Quarter 2019 Discharge Monitoring Reports for
the Roadside Portals Mine.
