EXHIBIT H Skull Creek Sand Project
Pronghorn
Pronghorn (Antilocapra americans) Overall Range as well as Winter Range and Perennial Water has been
mapped within and outside the permit area. CPW (2017) defines Overall Range as the area which
encompasses all known seasonal activity areas within the observed range of a population of pronghorn
antelope, Winter Range as that part of the overall range where 90 percent of the individuals are located
between the first heavy snowfall and spring green-up during the average five winters out of ten OR for a
site specific period defined by CPW personnel for that DAU. Winter range is only delineated for migratory
populations and Perennial Water as sources of water known to be important to antelope survival in late
summer or other drought periods. A four-mile radius should be described around a point source and four-
mile band be drawn along a river or stream. Pronghorn generally live in grasslands and semidesert
shrublands on rolling topography that affords good visibility. They are most abundant in shortgrass or
mixed grass prairies. Pronghorns are largely browsers, subsisting on sagebrush, supplemented by leafy
forage in summer.
Pronghorn within the Project Area are part of the Dinosaur herd (DAU PH-21) as defined by CPW. The
draft "Game Damage Annual Fiscal Repot Fiscal Year 2018" list the Dinosaur herd Target Population as
300, but has a 2017 Post Est. Population of 130 which is only 43%of Target.
Approximately 142.7 acres of Pronghorn Overall Range falls within the Project Boundary, of which,
approximately 42.1 acres will be within the Affected Land disturbed by mining. Figure 5 depicts the SCS
project in relationship to Pronghorn Overall Range.
White-tailed Prairie Dog
White-tailed Prairie Dog (Cynomys leucurus) Overall Range has been mapped within and outside of the
SCS project area. CPW (2017) defines Overall Range as an area which encompasses all known seasonal
activity areas within the range of a population of prairie dogs.
Approximately 326 acres of White-tailed Prairie Dog Overall Range falls within the Project Boundary, of
which, approximately 140 acres will be within the Affected Land disturbed by mining. The White-tailed
Prairie Dog Overall Range has been depicted in relationship to the project area on Figure 6.
Brazilian Free-tailed Bat
Brazilian Free-tailed Bat (Todorida brosiliensis) Overall Range has been mapped within and outside of
the SCS project area. CPW (2017) defines Overall Range as the area which encompasses all known
seasonal activity areas within the observed range of a population of Brazilian Free-tailed bats. All of the
Project Boundary and Affected Land falls within Brazilian Free-tailed Bat Overall Range. The Brazilian
Free-tailed Bat Overall Range has been depicted in relationship to the project area on Figure 7.
Mule deer
9/19/2019
10
