RPM,Inc.
Patrick Lemberg
August 16.2019
Page 4
It is our opinion that it is appropriate to continue the monitoring program until deuatenng
activities have been fully terminated, but there is no technical reason to continue
monitoring water levels every two weeks. A monthly monitoring schedule is more than
adequate at this time.
-Monitoring and Reporting Schedule
CCA proposes to measure water levels on a monthly basis and report water levels on an
annual basis. The data will be reported to the water commissioner and/or the Colorado
Department of Reclamation Mining and Safety before the end of November each year. The
submittal will be in the form of an MS Excel spreadsheet that includes tables of the
collected measurements for each monitoring well and hydrogtaphs including each
monitoring well.It is our opinion that this revised schedule is appropriate and protective
of existing nearby wells because of the reduction in dewatering activities and because the
worst of the impacts to the alluvial aquifer have already occurred.
Well Abandonment Forms
The monitoring wells were constructed throughout the mining areas inchuding areas that
have been mined. As mining progressed.some of the monitoring wells were mined through
and abandoned. During miming.the MW-1 MVP-199.MW-2,MW-3.MW-S,MW-6.MW-
7 and MW-10 were all mined through and abandoned through the mining process.Official
abandonment forms were submitted for all of the abandoned monitoring wells. The MW-
4 and MW-7 Obs wells still exist but are not accessible for monitoring purposes due to land
use constraints and are therefore not included in the monitoring program at this time. If
these wells are abandoned. then abandonment reports will be submitted at the time of
abandonment. The available abandomnent forms are attached for reference.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to
contact us.
Very truly yours,
BBA Water Consultants
1 bG
Timothy A.Crawford
Senior Project Manager-Hydrogeologist
TACtjeb
Enclosure
9107.07
br
RPM,Inc.,25049 E.Alder Dr.,Aurora,CO 80016 Phone:(303)854-7499 Email:hlhumphries2(a)comcast.nct
