During a routine inspection conducted
by the Colorado Department of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) on August 28,
2019, two items requiring corrective action were verbally noted by the inspector. These
items have been addressed and corrected by CC&V to satisfy corrective action
requirements. Please find a detailed response to each of the discussed issues below:
1. Signage
Noted issue: Permit signage posted at the entrance gate of the permitted mine
area does not comply with requirements of DRMS Rule 3.1.12.
Corrective Action: New signage has been installed which complies with all
requirements of 3.1.12 (see Photos 1-2).
2. Waste Rock in portal area
Noted Issue: A super-sack containing waste rock material was stored near the
portal entrance. DRMS recommended that this material be removed.
Corrective Action: The waste rock material and super-sack was removed and
transported to a waste rock facility (see Photos 3-4).
