The revision was submitted by Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation proposes to remove two surface water monitoring sites from the water monitoring plan. These two sampling sites are no longer within the permit area. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 2.5 miles Northwest of Nucla. The permit area is further described as follows: Portions of Sections 25 and 36, T 47 N, R 16 W, N.M.P.M. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Nucla.
