I have no concerns in regards to the provided Report however, I believe some additional
discussion needs to added for clarification by Ieserado regarding the proposed RP-A.
Please include the following comments to your adequacy letter.
* After reviewing l e erado Mine' TR-72 for the proposed refuse pile RP-A, there
was no provided information in how the su bgrade or foundation of RP-A will be
developed prior to the placement of refuse. Please have Irdo provide
additional discussion and information regarding the su grade or foundation
development to RP-A prior to refuse placement.
e In HB Engineering &Testing, LLC's Deport, they discuss the potential of
increased pore water pressures within the refuse pile with the burial of saturated
refuse. An increase in pore water pressure could impact the stability of the refuse
pile. Given this concern, HB suggested the potential of including wire
pie orn tern in the refuse pile to monitor pore pressure as an option. However,
given the site's environment and characteristics, the requirement of pie or eter
doesn't seem necessary under the assumption that refuse is allowed to properly
dry before being spread, compacted and burial. Please have l eserado provide
information and discussion on how they plan to allow refuse to reach are optimal
state prior to burial to insure stability of FIB- .
If you have questions, feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Zach Trujillo
Environmental Protection Specialist
(303) 866-3567 et. 8164
Z eh.Trujilto@state.eo.us
2
