1 a slurry wall will be installed around the perimeter of Phase 1 and extend to Phase 2. The
estimated time for mining Phase 1 is approximately 4 years. The operator is proposing to mine
Phase 2 second that is 24.08 acres and during this mining there will be the same 65.4 acres
disturbed that were in addition to Phase 1's 27.15 acres for a total of 104.61 acres that will be
the maximum disturbed area and a Technical Revision will be requested prior to mining into
Phase 2. The estimated time for mining Phase 2 is approximately 3 years and 6 months. The
operator plans to mine Phase 3 next and prior to mining Phase 3 a slurry wall will be installed
around the perimeter. Phase 3 is 48.69 acres and there will be 102.07 acres disturbed as the
areas for Phase 1 and 2 will be part of a reclaimed reservoir and likely released when Phase 3
mining starts. The stockpile areas will move to the bottom of Phase 3 after the southern portion
of Phase 3 is mined. The estimated time for mining Phase 3 is approximately 10 years. The
operator plans to mine Phase 4 next and prior to mining Phase 4 a slurry wall will be installed
around the perimeter. Phase 4 is 40.43 acres and there will be 70.16 acres disturbed as the
area for Phase 3 will be part of a reclaimed reservoir and likely released when Phase 4 mining
starts. The stockpile areas will be in Phase 4 and move to the bottom of Phase 4 after the
southern portion of Phase 4 is mined. The estimated time for mining Phase 4 is approximately 8
years and 5 months. The operator plans to mine Phase 5 next and prior to mining Phase 5 a
slurry wall will be installed around the perimeter. Phase 5 is 33.76 acres and there will be 53.64
acres disturbed as the area for Phase 4 will be part of a reclaimed reservoir and likely released
when Phase 5 mining starts. The stockpile areas will be in Phase 5 and move to the bottom of
Phase 5 after the southern portion of Phase 5 is mined. The estimated time for mining Phase 5
is approximately 7 years and 4 months.
The mining will progress in each phase beginning at the outer edge of the phase where material
will be moved toward the interior of the phase such that a 3HAV mining slope can be
established on the exterior of the phase and then transition to a 3HAV slope. The mining slope
will be established for the entire perimeter of the phase in 3 to 6 feet intervals. In Phases 1 —5 a
dewatering trench around the perimeter will be placed at the toe of the 31-1:1 V or 31-1:1 V mining
slope. As the phase is mined deeper the dewatering trench will be lowered and moved laterally
along the 3HAV and then the 3HAV mining slope toward the center of that phase. Once the
interior footprint becomes small enough where the 3H:1 V mining slopes from three to four sides
are encroaching upon the portable plant and haul roads another phase will be opened to
continue mining.
Dewaterinq
Dewatering trenches will be placed along the perimeter of each mining area in Phases 1 — 5.
The dewatering trench around the perimeter of the phase being mined will be placed at the toe
of the 3H:1V mining slope. As the phase is mined deeper the dewatering trench will be lowered
and moved laterally along the 3HAV mining slope toward the center of that phase. Once the
interior area becomes small enough where the 3H:1 V mining slopes from three to four sides are
encroaching upon the portable plant and haul roads another phase will be opened to continue
mining. The slurry wall is anticipated to be installed around the perimeter of Phase 1 and prior to
starting mining in Phase 2 and it is expected minimal dewatering will be required in the
subsequent phases due to the slurry wall cutting off groundwater infiltration into the pit. J-2
Contracting Company will have an approved substitute water supply plan and well permit prior
to exposing groundwater. The substitute supply plan will be updated annually to account for
water that is consumed due to exposing groundwater by the mining operation.
Explosives
Explosives will not be used during mining.
JET Consulting, J-2 Contracting Company
■ g DPG Mining Site
■ DRMS 112 Permit Application
