6.3.4 EXHIBIT D - Reclamation Plan
(1) Describe Reclamation Plan
(a) Replace Overburden
Mining in the pit progressed from north to south. The highwall in the pit was located on
the south end of the pit.
Overburden has been used to reduce the slope of most of the highwall to 3H:1 V or less. A
small highwall still remains for use by the operator as a farm pit.
(b) Maximum Gradient of Reclaimed Slopes
The maximum gradient of the reclaimed slopes at the pit is 3.8H:1 V. The relatively flat
pit floor will not be, regraded, reclaimed or vegetated. Material stockpiles located on and
around the pit floor will be left in place for use on the ranch property.
The post mining land use of the reclaimed pit will be used in support of the ranching
operation. The pit floor will not be vegetated in order to leave a relatively flat graveled
surface for equipment storage, hay storage, building construction all related to the ranch
operations.
(c) Site Revegetation
(i) The small amount of topsoil salvaged was used on the highwall reduction
in the southwest corner of the pit.
(ii) Site preparation will include highwall reduction and constructing a berm
around the pit floor. Revegetation will be performed in the fall or early
winter.
(iii)
Backfilled surfaces will be tracked to break up any crust that has formed
and ensure good seed-to-soil contact. Fertilizer will not be utilized.
