August 7, 2019 C-1981-03 5/King Coal Mine LJW <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> During the inspection material was actively being placed on the refuse pile at King 1. The material was being <br /> transported from King II and staged on the Temporary Coal Mine Waste Medium Storage Area. It was then being <br /> transported onto the Refuse Pile and being placed by wat of a belly dump scraper. The refuse was being installed <br /> in lifts and compacted in compliance with their permit. The pile appears to exhibit positive drainage and no <br /> impounded water or signs of erosion was noted. The clear water ditch running along the North side of the Refuse <br /> Pile was observed(Reach One). No coal waste or negative impacts to the ditch were noted. Discussions with <br /> Jordan McCourt indicate that the vegetation grubbing and prep work for the construction of the new clear water <br /> ditch has been completed and construction will begin in the next few weeks.
