MINE FACILITIES <br /> Introduction <br /> This section contains a description of the structures to be used in connection with or to facilitate <br /> the surface coal mining and reclamation activities at the New Horizon North (NHN) Mine <br /> described in Section 2.05.3, Operation Plan: Permit Area. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> Buildings: There are no longer any buildings located at the NHN Mine Facilities area. However, <br /> the area does still include a graveled parking area, equipment ready line, materials storage area <br /> and power poles. The <br /> surface landowner (Garvey & Co.) has requested the well be retained as a permanent structure. <br /> A copy of this request has been included in Appendix 2.05.5-1. <br /> Solid Wastes: Solid waste will be picked up by the local waste disposal contractor for disposal in <br /> the Montrose County Sanitary Landfill. The landfill is privately owned and operates under the <br /> regulations mandated by the State of Colorado and Montrose County. Solid wastes not suitable <br /> for disposal at the landfill will be transported to and disposed of in suitable, licensed facilities <br /> under the applicable Federal and State regulations. When practicable, solid wastes will be <br /> separated for recycling. <br /> Fuel Storage: There are no longer any fuel tanks located at the NHN Mine Facilities area. A Spill <br /> Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan has been developed for the NHN Mine <br /> to provide requirements for spill prevention, preparedness, and response. A copy of the SPCC <br /> Plan will be maintained at the New Horizon Mine Office. <br /> Coal Handling Structures: The NHN Mine has no coal handling structures.
